ABOUT
ABOUT ME

Naomi Rakhsha is a Toronto born artist with a vast experience in drawing and painting mediums, and a lust for ink illustrations . Having been influenced by the surrealist and post-modern art movements, Naomi’s art exhibits multifaceted concepts and designs that juxtapose traditional styled art with the new modern wave of bold colours and intricate line work.

Paintbrush in hand since ’94, Naomi’s art career began long before her artistic educational pursue in 2014, where she attended the Haliburton School of the Arts. Having graduated in 2015, Rakhsha obtained a diploma and certificate in both Integrated Design and Visual Art Fundamentals.

WHAT I'VE DONE

Naomi's work was exhibited in the MacLaren Art Center in 2011, where she received an honourable mention for the Sargeant Design Company Design Project, as well as being the youngest participant  in the 2011 Barrie Beaver Festival. Over the past 5 years, Naomi has been displaying her work in libraries, offices, and art collectives around Ontario. Naomi has appeared in exhibitions at Innisdale Secondary School, and the Haliburton School of the Arts. Amongst her pubic appearances, Naomi has a proficient reputation as a personal commission artist; having been selling original artworks since the age of 14.

WHAT I DO

I create art because I am art. I am so much ‘art’ that I am overflowing onto every person, and into any place or thing that I encounter in my life. Bob Dylan once said “The highest purpose of art is to inspire. What else can you do? What else can you do for anyone but inspire them?” and that is why I create; I am here to inspire.  Being recognized as a meticulous artist, most of my works exhibit an organization of delicacy and detail.  My preferred medium is oil paint, although I am a loyal enthusiast of archival pen and ink work.  In my foreseeable future I would like to continue experimenting with all aspects of the tangible world, and observe myself bloom parallel to my art.
